El tema del Pabellón Perú Expo 2020Dubai es la atemporalidad de la sabiduría ancestral, que trasciende el tiempo, transita por la tradición milenaria andina y evoluciona hasta nuestros días. El tiempo es un hilo que fluye, conectando nuestro pasado con nuestro presente y llevándonos al futuro. Un hilo infinito que porta sabiduría y articula nuestra historia. Una historia marcada en el tiempo en el Perú por vestigios hoy visibles. La idea de un hilo o una línea, visible en el tejido pero también en las líneas de Nazca, por ejemplo, nos inspiró a crear una estructura visual lineal que conecta los diferentes capítulos de nuestro viaje como visitante.
The theme of the Peru Pavilion Expo 2020Dubai is the timelessness of ancestral wisdom, which transcends time, travels through the Andean millenary tradition and evolves until our time. Time is a thread that flows, connecting our past with our present and taking us to the future. An infinite thread that carries wisdom and articulates our history. A history marked in time in Peru by remnants this visible today. The idea of thread or a line, visible in weaving but also in the Nazca lines for example, inspired us to create a linear visual structure connecting the different chapters of our visitor journey .

Los tejidos, a través de sus símbolos y figuras, son un elemento importante en la construcción de nuestra identidad, pues constituyen en sí mismos un lenguaje que conserva una memoria continua de la vida cotidiana de los peruanos, su cosmovisión y su conexión con la naturaleza. Esta idea de metáfora y significado fue nuestra segunda inspiración conceptual para un lenguaje visual e identidad del Pabellón Peruano. Los símbolos y figuras antes mencionados provienen de la evolución de la tradición textil peruana a lo largo de las sucesivas generaciones. Por lo tanto, no están vinculados a una cultura prehispánica en particular. Algunos de ellos mantienen su diseño original, mientras que otros han evolucionado a lo largo de los siglos.
Weavings, through its symbols and figures, are an important element in building our identity, because they constitute a language themselves which preserves a continuous memory of Peruvians´ daily life, their worldview and their connection with nature. This idea of metaphore and meaning was our second conceptual inspiration for a visual language and identity of the Peruvian Pavilion. The above mentioned symbols and figures come from the evolution of Peruvian textile tradition throughout the successive generations. Therefore, they are not linked to a particular pre-Hispanic culture. Some of them keep their original design, while others have evolved through the centuries.
Inspirándonos en este lenguaje, hemos identificado, seleccionado y en algunos casos transformado una serie de íconos presentes en los tejidos de la iconografía andina, y hemos desarrollado un alfabeto iconográfico de estilo geométrico, que servirá para describir los capítulos de la experiencia en el recorrido de recorriendo el Pabellón Perú Expo 2020 Dubái.
Inspired by this language, we have identified, selected and in some cases transformed a number of icons present in Andean iconography weavings, and we have developed a geometric-style iconographic alphabet, which will be used for describing the experience chapters In the journey through of touring the Peru Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai .
Este alfabeto iconográfico, que a su vez constituye un lenguaje, se utilizó para crear los patrones que conforman el estampado gráfico de la fachada del Pabellon Peruano, inspirados en los Tejidos Andinos.
This iconographic alphabet, which in turn constitutes a language, was used to create patterns that form the graphic print for the Peruvian Pavilions Façade, inspired by the Andrean Weavings.
COSMOVISIÓN ANDINA
El cosmos, en la mitología andina, se divide en 3 pachas, el Uku Pacha, Kay Pacha y Hanan Pacha. El Uku Pacha, o mundo interior, es donde comienza la vida, una serpiente representa el Uku Pacha. El Kay Pacha es el mundo terrenal en el que vivimos, un Puma representa al Kay Pacha. El Hanan Pacha está habitado por los Dioses, un Cóndor representa al Hanan Pacha.
The cosmos, in Andean mythology, is divided in 3 pachas, the Uku Pacha, Kay Pacha and Hanan Pacha. The Uku Pacha, or inner world, is where life begins, a serpent represents the Uku Pacha. The Kay Pacha is the earthly world where we live in, a Puma represents the Kay Pacha. The Hanan Pacha is inhabited by the Gods, a Condor represents the Hanan Pacha.
